MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT COLIN MOSS

My Fellow Rotarians,

On this the 50 Anniversary of International Literacy Day, observed since 1966 by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO, under the Theme: Reading The Past Writing The Future.

I encourage all Rotarians to join  in making this month dedicated to Basic Education & Literacy  memorable by making reading part of your daily task. As we embark on a month long reading marathon and schedule, let us engage Teachers, Students, adults, children, workers, volunteers bystanders and onlookers in our efforts to ensure a generation that is able to read, write and add fully, one that is literate and having the ability to count.

While statistics worldwide indicate 1 in 8 persons are unable to read or write, with our efforts and that of our partners, we will be doing our part to contribute to a steady decline when we get involved. I welcome your efforts, energy and enthusiasm as we launch what will be a exciting campaign to Reading The Past Writing The Future in Eleuthera and beyond.

YiRs,

President Colin Moss
