MESSAGE FROM RCE PRESIDENT ROBYN CURRY

Fellow Rotarians,

September is  "Youth Services Month"

As I would have stated at the beginning of this new Rotary year, one of my goals is for ALL Rotarians to become more involved with our Youth Service Clubs(ie Rotaract, Interact & Early Act). The future of Rotary lies in their hands, we must ensure they are lead in the right direction.

As our District Governor Jeremy Hurst states" One of the most significant opportunities this gives us is to not only groom “Rotarians in Waiting”, so vital for our future, but to get a better perspective of the problems of youth in our communities. So my message to you this month is to support our Rotary Youth Service Programmes – attend their meetings, get involved, do joint projects, invite them to our club meetings – but, at the same time, use these programmes to go deeper into our communities and get better understanding of how we can work with our Youth at Risk – the ones that perhaps are not part of our programmes for one reason or another.

Youth Service Clubs Meetings for the month:

Rotaract - Monday Sept 23rd - EACC, Tarpum Bay at 6:00pm

Interact - TBA

Early Act - Wednesday Sept. 25th - Deep Creek Middle School at 11:35am

Other Makeups for the month are:

School for Exceptional Learners - Governors Harbour

Volunteers  to assist with :-

Swimming - Sept 17 & 24 at Pineapple Fields 1:00pm ( will need assistance with transporting students)

Reading - Monday - Friday at 11:15 - 12:00 noon

Palmetto Point Library & Computer Lab - South Point 

Volunteers

Monday to Friday  1:00pm - 6:00pm

Saturdays  11 -2:00pm 

Early Act Service Project - Saturday  Sept 21st - Ocean Hole Park, Rock Sound 

Rotaract  Happy Hour  - Friday Sept 27th - Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve - Bank's Road
