Rotaract President Shapreka Clarke and Rotaract IPP Kenwood Cartwright were sponsored by the Rotary Club of Rancho Cotati to visit Nigeria for ten (10) days in October. During our Club meeting, they regaled us with details of their trip to participate in the first West Africa Project Fair (WAPF) and shared a video depicting their activities including West African performances they enjoyed while in Nigeria!

We learned that Rotarians from fifteen (15) West African nations collaborated to execute the Fair. The event’s overall goal was to facilitate partnerships with Rotary Clubs from around the world to fund desperately needed community service projects in West Africa. President Shapreka and IPP Kenwood were able participate in community service projects including providing school packs at a local school, teaching entrepreneurial skills to women at a vocational training school, dispersing dental hygiene kits to students and distributing free medications at a community health clinic. The Project Fair coincided with World Polio Day so they also provided hands-on assistance to the Polio Immunization Program by administering vaccines to children.
