ROTARIAN IN THE SPOTLIGHT

Rotarian Jacqueline Gibson, a Charter Member of The Rotary Club of Eleuthera, has been an integral part of this great organization from its inception. Her classification is in the area of Hospitality and Tourism. With Tourism being the number one industry of the Bahamas, and a Senior Staffer at the Government/Ministry level, her vocation provide her the perfect link that connects both International and Domestic visitors to our lovely island, not only to experience the natural island beauty, but the culture and amazing people. Tourism is that important vehicle that drives and invigorates our economy as a whole. Rotarian Jacquie, as she is affectionately called, is able to facilitate the total Bahamian experience when Rotarians from other cultures and countries visit our shores. Her vocation has positioned her to create and offer tourism related events and onshore engagement as well.

As President of our club in 2012/2013, our club soared to new heights and we were awarded numerous awards including “Club of the Month” the distinguished District Governor’s Platinum Award, Zone 33/34 Public Image Citation, as well as the District Literacy Award. During her tenure as President, the Early Act Club of Deep Creek Middle School was chartered. As a result of her diligence and distinguished service, she was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow in 2013. An ambitious, hardworking, talented and motivated individual, Rotarian Jacquie has served as Membership Chair and now serves as an outstanding Public Image Chair. Her skills coupled with her determination to be “second to none”, drives her to always put her best in whatever she does. AS PI Chair, she maintains our Club’s website (the district outstanding club website award), and Facebook page and ensures that these platforms are very informative. Rotarian Jacquie is selfless and always puts the needs of others first as she mentors the youth in our community. This past summer a former Interact Club President, interned at her place of employment and just recently she permitted her favorite charity, the students of The Centre For Exceptional Learners, the opportunity to tour her work environment, to learn more about her vocation. Rotarian Jacquie has achieved many firsts in her stellar career and is continuing to strive for even higher heights.
