MESSAGE FROM RCE CLUB PRESIDENT

Happy New Year Rotarians 2015/2016
 
My Fellow Rotarians,
 
As we embark on our journey in this new Rotary year under the theme "Success to Significance", I want to say that I am humbled to serve as President of the greatest little club in the galaxy!  That saying  might seem as if it's a cliche, but I truly believe that each of us together make our club great!  I follow in the footsteps of my predecessors that have made a tremendous difference on this island and in the world of Rotary.  Our club has gained the respect and admiration of our District leaders and I would venture to say that the world is watching us very closely!  It is no secret that our club is a force to reckon with, as is evidenced by the many accolades and awards that we have won in such a short time of existence.  However, we must not rest on past achievements because there is so much more work to be done on our beloved island of Eleuthera, the nation of The Bahamas and indeed the world!
 

Our District Governor Felix Stubbs has challenged us to move the work that we have done from "Success to Significance" and in order for this to be accomplished, WE ALL need to be engaged and energized to move this club forward.  Our talents vary, but I would venture to say that we are well matched to take on this challenge.  What do you want to leave as your legacy?  What is it that you want to see our club achieve this year?  In order for our club to achieve the significance that is needed, your time, your talent, your resources but most of all your energy and the "Service Above Self" mindset must be in place.  No one person can make this happen, this requires a collective effort.

 

I believe that each of us joined Rotary because we want to make a lasting impact on the world in which we live.  Therefore, the projects that we take on this year must be fueled by passion, energy and innovation.  We have what it takes to "Be a Gift to the World".  So, let's collectively devote ourselves to doing more than we have ever done before.  In the words of our District Governor "let's therefore commit to transform our lifetime of Success into one of Significance for generations to come...the time is NOW.  We have the opportunity and responsibility, this year, to make that transformation."
